Welcome to the FBC Student Ministry…

We are so honored you have decided to look a little deeper into Catalyst and I want to give you some insight as to who we are and what our purpose is as Christ followers in Catalyst.  We chose this name because we believe that Christians are to be agents of change in whatever context they find themselves in – with friends, with family, at work, at school, etc!

First, Catalyst is a scientific term which means…

“a substance that causes change without itself being affected.”

Catalyst Student Ministry exists because we believe in…the concept of change!

Catalyst is Students AND Parents willing to be changed by God, willing to be used to cause change, and willing to take a stand for God in order to cause change.

Catalyst consists of Students AND Parents who live out Romans 1:16. We worship God with no restraints, no hesitations because…

WE are UNASHAMED of the God we serve!

We, as Catalyst, believe that our age does not limit the impact we can have on this world. According to 1 Timothy 4:12, our age…

We believe God wants to change every single person, including us, through an INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.  No matter what we have done, and no matter where we have been,…

We believe that by Faith and with God we can change our schools, our families, our church, and our community by reflecting Christ’s attitude and purity according to Proverbs 20:11.

Catalyst consists of students who do not give into the trends and lifestyles of the world, but rather we strive to change the current trends of the world from that of sin and temporary pleasures to that of Eternal life and to present our bodies as LIVING and HOLY sacrifices according to Romans 12:1-2.

Catalyst Student Ministry cause change for the kingdom of God without being changed by things of this world!

We want to accomplish this with 3 simple steps…

LOVE : As followers of Christ, our two most important duties of all are:

Love God, Lover others!

And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:28-31

TRUTH: A fundamental part of the Christian walk is to LEARN MORE ABOUT GOD as He is revealed in His Word – through a focused study of the Bible.

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:31-32

MOVEMENT: Jesus commands His disciples to be people of action, not complacency and apathy. This action occurs in at least two main directions:

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
